Minister of Young Adults
Steele is amazed every week by the group’s hunger to receive the Word of God and grow in their relationship with Him. Through his role, he hopes to continue providing young adults with a space and time in which they can intentionally focus on Christ while enjoying themselves and the company of others. His goal is to help every person that comes through the group see that the purpose of their life is to follow Jesus and make disciples.
In addition to the young adult group, Steele is also very passionate about international missions. While in college, he spent a summer in east Asia working with unreached people groups. Since then, he’s traveled on several other mission trips, both domestic and international.
Prior to joining the ministerial staff at FBCJ, Steele served as a pastoral resident at Brentwood Baptist Church. He has a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from Samford University and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Steele lives with his wife, Brooke, in Nashville.
Fun Fact: In his spare time, you can either find Steele enjoying himself on a nearby soccer field or watching his beloved Tennessee Vols.
Student Ministries Worship Leader
Brittany began working for First Baptist Church Joelton a little over two years ago. She had recently graduated from Bryan College with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries with an emphasis in Worship Arts. Since then, she has been pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry.
Brittany’s primary role is to teach and train emerging worship leaders. She acts as a coach to the youth worship team and leads worship for the young adults with her team, The Collective. In addition to being a worship leader, Brittany is also a songwriter, and her first worship album is expected to release in 2018. She prays that God's glory is both magnified and experienced through her music, resulting in real heart transformations.
As a key part of the FBCJ Young Adult group, Brittany is excited to see what God’s future plans are for the group. She truly loves the group and is confident that God is moving within it.
Fun Fact: When she’s not listening to worship music, Brittany can be found enjoying classical music and reminiscing on the four years she sang in operas.
