Brittany's Top Five

Y'all. Life without Spotify would be a train wreck. Can I get an 'amen'?

Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic--but seriously, I need my music.

As the worship leader for Joelton Young Adults, I keep my ears peeled for albums that are theologically rich and musically resonant.

Music is a powerful tool that--when used correctly--can help us worship in both Spirit and truth (John 4:24). When our hearts are as stone, inspiring music softens our emotions; and when our emotions are chaotic, biblical lyrics ground us in truth.

Take time to check out these five albums which I believe have both:

1. "Garden"- United Pursuit

Beautiful reflections on our restored relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Top Tracks: Beautiful, Holy

2. "Home"- Josh Garrels

Alternative folk with rich and introspective lyrics.

Top Tracks: Born Again, At the Table

3. "Every Nation"- Lindy Conant and the Circuit Riders

Live worship on the missional call for believers.

Top Tracks: Take Courage, Come What May

4. "Every Mile Mattered"- Nichole Nordeman

Reflections on life, and lessons learned, by the worship leader.

Top Tracks: Dear Me, Hush Hush

5. "Ghost of a King"- The Gray Havens

The biblical metanarrative in fresh and artistic lyrics.

Top Tracks: Ghost of a King, At last the King
